Why is it that the people who are most upset about the "nappy hair" comment have chemicall

black people in America have been made to feel ashamed about our hair through the educational process in this country.

Black people straighten our hair, we get a nose job because we were taught that our nose is too big; we even go as far as bleaching our skin.

We wear blue and green contact lenses and the men keep their hair cut short.

This is the whole point about the Don Imams thing. He used the same slur that has been used against us for the past 400 years.

Slurs like what he used is the cause for these women (and some men) to get their hair chemically straightened.

Because they're trying to assimilate, and for someone to acknowledge their natural "nappy" hair is a slap in their faces.

They need to accept their natural hair and stop pretending nappy hair is so effin horrible.

Because they dropped all that cash at the hair salon and freakin' Imus didn't even notice.

It's not the nappy part, it is the ho part that bothered me toward women that are doing something positive with their lives.

This is what Howard Stern had to say about the "nappy-headed hoes" uproar. "He's apologizing like a guy who got his first broadcasting job. He should have said, "F**k you, it's a joke." Sure it may have been a "racial" joke. Certain people just make nothing into a big deal.

I guess they had it straightened because they knew it was nappy.

SAM I'd agree only trouble theyve shown their true nature, and will if not forever at least for a very long time be known as what he called them though in jest even this night a black congress woman and congressman said on national tv they did not believe he said this with hate in his heart,or with hateful intent.

What they would not admit to is the fact that they are the people who invented, allowed this word to flourish and become apart of language thus a radio entertainer would be inundated with the word-which really isnt a word nor can I find it in my most current american english slang dictionary.

hiphop, gansta, rap created this and they can use it but noone else.

Just because someone has African textured hair, does not mean that its nappy, which means snarled and difficult to comb. Blacks simply have tight curls. Nappy is a perjorative term invented during slavery.

You are speculating...

Well my wife doesn't use chemicals to straighten her hair she presses it. She presses it enough so that she can comb through it and manage it. (Not as straight as whites or blacks with chemically treated hair though, but just enough to comb it).

Not all blacks put chemicals in their hair. Many black men don't and my sister wears an Fro.

You are just trying to say that that isn't a racial slur, your argument is weak.
