i have long curly hair that goes to the middle of my back. its not really that nappy but its frizzy like a lot of curly hair people have problems with(its not like african hair) its bouncy when i straighten it...but i see that a lot of people who get relaxers or perms have stiff short hair and so do you think i should get a perm. My hair looks great when straightened though but it looks really nice when i have it natural curly in a ponytail or some kinda updo....should i use a relaxer on it??!?!?!

I had a perm 2 months ago and my hair didn't turn out stiff...it turned out wavy/curly just how I wanted it. The people you see with stiff perms either got jipped with a really crappy perm or they're using the wrong products or too much products in their hair, because mine is still quite soft.

Are you talking about perming with straight results, or perming with curly results? Either way, if you go to a good salon it'll turn out fine. Shop around, ask people where they get their perms done and if you like their results, go to their salon.

if you have healthy hair a good perm will not ruin your hair if done right. i would think that if you like the way your hair is naturally your best bet would probably be to buy a good flat iron such as CHI and buy a heat protector like CHI silk infusion or biosilk silk therapy. these will help keep your hair from heat damage from the ironing process.
