Please read...................?

Do you consider the term "nappy hair" to be a racist thing toward Blacks?

I had a conversation about this with a white guy named Matt. It started with the Don Imus controversy. Matt said that he doesn't think that calling someone "nappy-headed" is a racist thing; he even claimed that some white people have nappy hair. He also added that he's heard of veterinarians say things like, "Gosh, this dog's hair is nappy." Matt even feels that Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson are "blowing things out of proportion."

Here's the irony of this conversation, guys. Matt says that referring to a white guy as "white boy" is racist! I don't even understand the logic behind that one. Frankly, it sounded not only backwards, but kinda stupid to me.

Now, back to my original question: do you consider the term "nappy hair" to be a racist thing toward Blacks?

Please read...................?

No. There are white people that have "nappy" hair. Its all about the coarseness of the hair.

However, I feel when it is used in the context the Don Anus used it, it should be considered racist.

But i think Al and Jesse should keep their traps shut, they annoy the h*ll out of me. They are blow-hard, self-important, opportunists.

no.

it is not something we usually boast about cuz mainly it's an unimaginable hair thing but there are those who consider it to be a good thing. however out right calling someone that is not acceptable in most cases. you don't know how they will take it. it is a matter of choosing your words wisely.

Imus made a mistake....but the press is just running this thing into the ground. It's all I see on the news anymore. He said he's sorry about 50 times. How many times will be enough?

Please read...................?

NO! this racist thing has gone too far, they should make a list of all the racist terms in the world and make it public!

I am sick of it !! these days everything you say can be considered racist!
