my little girl has had hair down there from about 7 mth shes under a doc but had no answers its not a great amount and its not that noticible but i can see it when i change her nappy has any one else had this problem

When I had my daughter, a few days after we went home, she was bleeding down there. I freaked out. The doctor said that it was just becasue of her hormones and mone were still in her system. It should go away. If there is nothing that your doctor can find you should either consult with another doctor and have her hormone levels checked. I am pretty sure that this is all it is.

Sounds like she has hormonal issues, obviously a doctor will be the best thing.

Is it just like peach fuzz? sometimes babies have "fuzz" on their backs or on their body .. sometimes its even dark.. but it goes away.

I wouldnt worry about it my daughter had 1 dark hair and I could notice it, just leave it, everyone is different.

It's probably not a problem, just hormones. I used to babysit for a 6-year-old boy who had hair on his legs (I can only assume he had hair elsewhere too) and his voice was changing already! Just check with your doc but it's probably just extra hormones and it might be correctable.

I would talk to your doctor. A lot of times, babies can have their mother's hormones in them when they are born and exhibit signs in their bodies that we would only associate with post-puberty girls or women. If you don't get an answer from your doctor, seek a second opinion.

If it had been from birth wouldn't have been as strange but seeing as it had been from 7 months gives reason for concern. I know of a little girl who started puberty at 18 months old and all she needed was a pill everyday to stop the progressing of it until she was 11 years old. If this is the case, than it really shouldn't take that much to sort it out. If this is not the problem, then im afraid i am stumped. Hope it gets sorted. Good luck.

Do they look like pubic hairs, or just faint thin fair hairs? I've never heard of that before. Just while we're on the subject, I know about someone who cut their hand when they were young, and they had to have a skin transplant from their pucic skin area (before they started puberty) and when they began growing pubic hair, it grew on their hand too.

Do you mean pubic hair or the peach fuzz stuff? Pubic hair would be darker and coarse.

Everyone has the peach fuzz kind you just don't notice it because you are not cleaning the area like you do a baby's.

If you do think it is like pubic hair and not just fuzz even a lot of fuzz would be softer where pubic hair is not I would see another doctor. there is such a thing as precocious puberty which just means puberty too early and they can stop it. They have a website called toosoon.com you could go there and see if any other people's children were as young as your or at least get info.

My daughter is going through puberty early she is 8.5 and just starting to get hair etc. but I was only 9 when I started my period. My sister told me about this site, it was very informative though my daughter is just following in mommy's footsteps unfortunately, I was hoping they would be older than I was.

it's not really pubic hair like you get in puberty...

I have seen it, on many babies... totallly normal...

does she also have hairy legs? nape of the neck? small of the back? .... sometimes genetics... I'm hispanic, I was born with lots of hair, still have it... so when my daughter was born w/ a moderate amount, I was grateful :)

my pediatrician said not to worry either, then I told her about myself, she laughed and said "seriously, don't worry - you may just have to let her shave her legs younger than you'd like to!"...... I love my Dr. :)

my daughter does, she is now 5 yrs old, and in fact she is quite hairy everywhere.

the peadiatrician wanted to get her screened for all sorts of genetic syndromes, as she also has a cleft palate!

But basically after talking to the genetises she just thinks it's down to her family history, as all my husbands side are very hairy!

My younger son is now showing signs of being hairy compaired to the normal child too!

My baby was born quite hairy, not down below but she had dark brown hair on her arms, back, cheeks %26amp; some on her legs. No one brought this up as being abnormal, %26amp; it was quite noticeable.We put it down to her being about 4 weeks early. She's now 10 months %26amp; the hair is now light %26amp; like fuzz so you can't really tell she has it but i admit i was concerned.

Maybe its from the mothers hormones during pregnancy but i wouldn't worry %26amp; as she gets older it'll probably disappear on its own.

have you or the daddy ever been on any extra hormone drugs.. some type of heart meds that help patients fight off the rejection of a new heart.. some patients end up with abnormal amounts of hair. check your families medical background for any meds that could have been passed down to you and your baby.. she could have recieved this abnormality thru you or daddy.. donot worry she'll be fine.. she has a step up on all the other girls. okay...lol
