Im ethiopian so my hair is not that nappy. how do i get my hair to stay curly, but not get nappy.?

when i wash my hair it comes out nice and curly and soft but it lasts like that for like 3 minutes. I want to know if anyone knows if using only conditioner will keep my hair this way because i don't want to use moose or gel because that would mean i would have to wash my hair everyday, which I can't. Also does leaving regular condtioner in your hair make it break and fall out?

Leaving conditioner in your hair will not hurt it all at -- the only thing that might happen is your hair may look like it has some residue in it as the conditioner dries (if this happens, simply spray some water with a little spray bottle from a drug store and it'll dampen the dried conditioner enough to smooth it down again). What I would suggest is taking rollers -- not hot rollers, they're the velcro kind, they're made out of plastic, and they are extremely inexpensive -- and putting them in your hair right when you get out of the shower. Section your hair into 1 or 2 inch sections and roll it as tight as you can around the rollers. Use a bobby pin to keep it in place. From this point, you can either let your hair air-dry, or you can dry it with a blowdryer on medium or low heat (don't use hot, it'll scorch your hair and burn your scalp). Once it's completely dry, gently unravel the rollers and you'll be left with soft, beautiful curls. You can use a product known as "Proclaim" after you take them out if you'd like. It's just a smoothing oil that makes your hair look shiny and healthy, and it helps control frizz. It won't leave build up and it won't even look like you have any product in your hair. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you! I know how frustrating it is to deal with fuzzy hair. :)

use curl definer. john frieda makes some good ones that last but dont make your hair hard or dry. also make sure u use some sort of moisturizer. Dont chemically treat ur hair. if ur like all the other ethiopian girls i met, ur hair is already a pretty texture, it just needs some taming.
