How to grow longer hair?

I a young black girl who had a thick head full of hair as a child, but when I ignored it during those tomboy pre-teen years, it got tangled and nappy and I must have lost nearly an inch or two in length. Now that I'm a teen, is there anything I can do to get back my thick fluffy hair? Us black girls have it extra hard because our hair grows so slowly... I'm open to any and ALL suggestions please!

How to grow longer hair?

You can do several things to help hair growth. The best is to take some vitamin E or increase vitamin E in your diet. Also scalp massage, getting regular trims, and some people swear by using horse shampoo and conditioner (gives you silky and shiney hair).

I supposedly heard that braiding your hair when you go to sleep at night helps it to grow faster, but I don't know if your hair is long enough to braid... and I also heard that putting wool ribbons into those braids help too. But who knows if it's true, huh? Doesn't hurt to try, though.

How to grow longer hair?

hmm try asking in a hair salon or get extensions!!

How to grow longer hair?

well go to the hair dresser like every two weeks and have them treat it for you.

If u don't already use them use ONLY salon exclusive shampoos and products. Trust me u will notice the difference in your hair.

How to grow longer hair?

I don't think that your hair grows more slowly as much as it just breaks really easily! Use a good conditioner every day and a deeper treatment once a week. Your may also be able to get a more intense in-salon treatment to prevent breakage. Also, get trims every 6-8 weeks: ask your salon to trim off as little as possible just so your ends don't split and cause more breakage. Try sleeping with your hair wrapped in a silky scarf or against a silky pillow, this is also better for your hair... and try not to brush it while it's wet! If you regularly straighten your hair, use the lowest temperature that works. Good luck!

How to grow longer hair?

Just keep it healthy. And trim it at least every three months to get rid of split ends. Use a good volumizing shampoo and conditioner(not just a cheapo department store brand), and it will grow. Everyone's hair grows slowly; but if you keep it healthy, it'll grow faster. And I know it sounds weird, keep it trimmed and it'll grow faster, my hubby's always asked the same question, but your hair gets split ends after a while; this makes the hair frizz out a bit, dry out easier, makes that strand of hair a bit unhealthier; and when you have quite a few like that; then you have quite a few strands of hair that won't grow as quickly. So go to a proper hairstylist and have them trim even just half an inch off of it every three months, it'll stay healthy and grow nice and thinck like it used to be.

it takes patience but trimming it every 3 months helps and theres these brushes with special bristles it helps too.

Want natural hair back!?

AYt! so i origanally had hair up to my waist very long and thick. It was manageable like a wavy/nappy but very beautiful and healthy. I went through the permed stage... did it... regret it... had to cut my hair and stuff! CRAZY! now its sooooooooo damaged and i want to cut it all off like up to eva pigford's hair. my regrowth is weird tho... its like its growing faster on one side of my hair. So my regrowth is wavier on one side. I also wnat to use like a texturizer to make my hair like a cute kinda curly.wavy way. Any suggetsions?

Want natural hair back!?

Don't cut your hair too short and don't use a texturizer. Your hair became damaged from using chemicals in the first place and if you start using perming it again, you will have to keep on doing it. Just leave it natural. And don't cut it so short that you can't pull it back or put it up. Your hair will grow faster if you pull it back and leave it alone because this will protect your ends. Don't heat-style your hair (no curling irons or blow dryers). Condition and moisturize your hair A LOT, take vitamins, drink water, and just leave it alone. It will grow back quickly. Do not texturize it!

Want natural hair back!?

Take pictures of the cute style you want and bring them in to your stylist. If your hair is that damaged, you can't "fix it". You simply have to cut it off and start over. There are certain hair masks you can use, as well as colesterol, but if your hair is "sooooooo damaged", it is too late to fix it. If you go have your hair cut, you should notice that your growth pattern will go back to normal after a short while. Best of luck!!

Want natural hair back!?

If you want your hair to grow back stay away from the chemicals! Find a stylist you can naturally maintain your hair they will help your hair grow really fast.

Want natural hair back!?

motions Critical Repair and Protection (CPR) shampoo and conditioner to steam

Want natural hair back!?

Request a vitamin C treatment at the salon. Be aware that if your hair is dyed, it will neutralize the color! The vitamin C treatment does wonders though for restoring your hair and repairing it. I wish you would not have cut it, this would have been a journey of maybe several treatments, internal intake of vitamins, a trim every two to three weeks, and constant use of conditioners, but your hair would have been back to normal in just a month or two.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

I was pretty much born with the worst hair ever, and i will not be getting my natural hair back anytime soon.

i have tried everything

Relaxers

Japannese hair straighting (most recently)

%26amp; Chi straighteners

the relaxers are to damaging and after i wash it for the 1st time its pretty much back to normal, except my roots arent as curly.

Chi straightners - damaging my hair ALOT and i still don't get the straightness i want

Japannese hair straighting - my hair came out wonderful, but again, after i washed it, it was a LITTLE easier to manage and when i blew it out, which pretty much took me the same amount of time it would before i got it done, i got the same results.

here are some pictures of my hair

it looks OK but when you touch it it's kinda gresy, kinky, nappy, stiff,

is there any other things i can try?

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

I can't recommend enough the book "Curly Girl" - the care and feeding of curly hair.

It's informative and funny, with lots of great homemade treatments for your hair.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

try dove theropy it works great and makes it smooth

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

as stupid as it sounds, try that brush that spins. i'm so sorry i can't remember the name. but google "hair straightening brush". my friend bought it from the infomercial and she has the absolute WORST hair to deal with. it takes a while to do, but there are no chemicals or anything like that. just brush through your dry hair and it really really works. for your hair i'd say it would take about an hour or so but you'd only have to do it a couple times a week.

good luck!

oh and ps, it makes your hair look and FEEL silky.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

Brush it and wet it. A LOT.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

Try Tresseme' the Gelatin kind or the Silk and protien kind. I us eit and i have wonderful hair. Or try the Grnier Sleek and shine. It really works. It wroked for me.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

try pantene. the one for women of color though since your hair is nappy and also get the cream and apply it while your hair is wet then blow dry it. it should make it soft and smooth but if it doesnt then you need a miracle gurl!

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

wow, your hair looks a lot like my hair! it gets really poofy when you try to straighten it, right? well, i would try using some heaving conditioners like john frieda and pantene pro-v. using three step systems (like, shampoo, conditioner and serum) help to condition your hair to make it softer and have less flyaways when you straighten it. i like to blow dry my hair first, and then straighten it with a ceramic flat iron on the highest heat setting. but i think you should also embrace your hair. people tell me that they like my wavy hair because it looks natural and compliments me. you have your own unique hair, and it's not always going to look like those girls who were born with natural straight hair! once you accept this fact, you'll find styles that will match your hair and you'll start to love your hair. hope my advice helped.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

your hair is broken and damaged. you should AVOID relaxers and straighteners until your hair grows back healthy. embrace the curly hair for a few months.

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

TRY USING CONAIR STRAIGHTENER WITH TURBO HEAT IT WORKS MIRACLES ON ANY KIND OV HAIR AND IT DOESNT DAMAGE YOUR HAIR THAT MUCH! TRY TO ALSO USE A PROTECTIVE CREAM WHEN U STRAIGTHEN YOUR HAIR!

Straight Hair Help! PLEASE!(pictures)?

Use Loreal Paris!!!

Hair question---?

I have a small problem...or not really but I do want a few opinions...I have I guess medium hair...it's below my chin but above my shoulders...and I straighten it every day. I have done this for a few years, but it use to be longer. Anyway I am going on a cruise in November, and I'm not going to want to straighten it everyday then get in the water for it to get nappy. So would the easier thing be to let it grow out as much as it will or just cut it off now and get to a hairstyle that I like...I don't mind cutting it off. Right now with my hair not straightened it's just wavy, and I don't really like it that much...I can put it up a little but have to put a lot of bobby pins in it to keep it from falling. I just want it to look cute on the cruise, but not too fixed...any suggestions??

Hair question---?

If you find a style that you like then I would say get it cut, by the time November comes around it will have grown out a lot and will be even cutier. I didn't flat iron mine everyday either when I was on a cruise, but I had fun scrunching and pinning it up. You can also use a few different products to help with the curls....
