First of all does she like her hair in an afro. If she likes it that way leaver her alone she may become offensive. If she is accepting let her know that her hair would look cute in a certain style and to get it to loook its best she should relax it first. Personally most people know when they need a perm. I would worry about her more when she has nappy hair and puts a phony pony on over it.

Then if she says naah, ask others (friends) what they think. If she needs one that bad, they'll agree, and the more yeses she gets, the more she'll want to get one. get it straightened professionally in a salon. then do a follow-up of re-touch every time the root growth appears. after relaxing it make sure u take care of it with good mosturising shampoo and conditioner, hot oil treatment and deep conditioning massage. this keeps ur hair healthy and gloosy coz relaxed hair tends 2 b dry and dull if not aken care of.

i see black girls everyday that have nice straight hair. they wrap it and comb it out when they wake up. i do that also, but my hair is very thick and when it sweats out, it gets nappy. well not nappy like puffy, but my hair gets tangly. what should i do to keep up with my hair. and please dont tell me to visit a stylist because i do that. do you know of some other tips that i should do to keep my hair nice? any products? things that helped your hair out?

Hi my sister had the same problem, her hair was SO thick she had very pretty shoulder legnth hair, NOTHING worked, and she too was going to a stylist, She decided that she was going to have her hair "raked" this a process that the stylist uses a comb with little razors and they comb through your hair thinning it out, Her hair looked amazing but she has not yet to get the fullness back again, Good Luck.

Hey you can put you hair like your avator, and you can also put the hump and just leave the rest and down and make it semi curly by using a bumping iron and turning the curling iron to the side like you doing sherly temple curls.

My best friend has natural ringlet curls and has the same problem. She has had it chemically straightened and said that yes it is permanent (depending on the kind you get and it's expensive! No it won't go back to being curly when you wash it) but that once your hair starts to grow your gonna have some probs. It will be curly on top and sraight at the bottom. Can get kinda crazy and probably pretty exspensive. I guess it all depends on how much u wanna spend.

Yes it is permanent. If you want the option of going between straight and curly, then I'd suggest texturising your hair. You do it at the salon and it just releases the curl rather than take it out altogether. When you want it straight you can flat iron it or blow dry it with a round brush, and when you want it curly, just wet it and put in one of those curl enhancing creams. It's the absolute coolest! I got turned on to it by a really great hairstylist I met in New York. The best part is less harsh on hair!!!

2) your hair would probably in better condition if you moisturized your hair properly. if you cannot moisturize your hair properly when it's natural then you should not get a relaxer. a relaxer dries out the hair and needs more moisture than natural hair. your hair has to be in good shape for you to get a relaxer %26amp; not have your hair fall out.

I have used a diffuser of my relaxed hair and I have kinky hair and it just dried really thick, with no curl. If you want to achieve that curly look you might want to try twisting it in sections and then drying it.
